I have to go back to New York to visit this.
The Plaza Hotel

While we were in New York a group of us stumbled upon Plaza Hotel, this hotel on Fifth Avenue is set to be forever transformed from a hotel into a mixture of retail stores, residentials and hotel rooms. According to this article in the NY Times, the Landmark Preservation Commission has deemed only the exterior to be protected from destruction. So while it may look the same on the outside, it'll be completely different on the inside. I'm just glad I got to go in there and take a look around before they completely transform it. I think they had $40 Pizza in there though so I doubt I could ever afford to stay in there anyways.
I <3 New York

Spring Break in New York was a blast. Living in NYC was a complete 180 from my experience of living in California. There were so many places to go and so many sights to see and so many people who came on the trip (varying at times from 16-24). I'm so glad I went and now I feel like living in NYC, except the rent is high. New York is so beautiful though.
Friday

Met up at Cha and drove to Long Beach Airport and took the red eye flight to NYC. Finally got to play with my PSP :)
Saturday

Arrived at 4AM New York time. After everyone came in some of us decided to go out and look around where we were living. Then we went to some diner and then went back to our hotel and crashed for the day.
Later on in the afternoon we all got up, got out and went to buy our Metro Cards. These things cost $24 but worth every penny as we must have used the subways at least 50 times throughout our trip. All 18+ of us now (with Sean and Linda having arrived earlier in the day) managed to get into one car and we went all the way down to Chinatown. We ate at some Dimsum place but I forget the name, the food was decent having a different flavor than the dimsum I have here in California but it still tasted good.
This is where a lot of people split off, I personally had to head over to Penn Station to go take a train to New Jersey to visit my Aunt/Uncle/Cousin who lived in New Jersey and were about to move out of the house they had lived in for 15 years. It took me about 2 hours to finally get up there. First the Green Line shutdown in Chinatown so I had to walk all the way back up Canal St. to take the Yellow Line over to 34th where I walked on over to Penn Station. Then I had to find the train station and then wait for the train to arrive. All said and done I make it into Metro Park at 5:45PM.
So my aunt, uncle and cousin are waiting for me for 3 hours because they thought I was coming in earlier pick me up and we make a quick stop into my old stomping grounds at Irving Park Elementary where I went to Kindergarten. I also saw my old house that was within view of the school. We also went to go see their old house that I use to goto often. I also saw the Highland Pizza place that was still there after all these years. I had almost no recollection outside of those three things and it's really odd how different my perception the neighborhood was compared to what it really was.
Here's what I did while I was with my relatives
Ate at this Italian place called Johnny Carinos
Played pool with my Uncle and cousin
Found out my Uncle played classical guitar.
Went to sleep on a bed
Woke up and ate some breakfast, saw that they had a nice view whenever the sun sets in NJ. Awesome view and a huge ass backyard.
Watched The Matrix on a 60" TV
Went to eat at some Malaysian place but it was more like Pan Asian.
Then I went back into NY to go find the rest of the group then SOHO; Dinner at this Thai place; Desert at Serendepity 3; Sam and I also broke the bed.
Monday

Rain, Pouring Rain. Went around by myself to SOHO, bought a shirt and a blazer at H&M; Slept at the Toys R Us because it was soaking wet and I was dead tired. Watched Get Cool at some theater near Times Square with Kat, Men Fei, Danny Tea, Harry; Diner at Bubba Gumps in Time Square; Watched a comedy show at Caroline's Comedy Club also in Times Square
Tuesday

Got up late, went to Times Square with Chris, Selena, Sean, Meng Fei, Charlie, Kat and Harry. Went to a couple of stores then we went to White Castle where Meng Fei , Harry, Sean and I ate a 30 pack of White Castles. Visited World Trade Center then I went with Harry, Sam and Charlie to the Financial district and then across the Brooklyn Bridge which took forever. We met up with Mike and Jenn while walking across and we gave Mike his two Whitecastle's. At night, I went to go see Rent with Kat, Danny and his friend Shirley. Rent was awesome
and no Nick Lachey's brother was not in it. Finally for our late night finale we went to a bar called The Big Easy and then over to a bar called Snafu. Got piss drunk, tried to get into a WaMu at 4AM and then passed out on the hotel sofabed.
Wednesday
Went with Sam, Ray, Irene, Michelle, Adrienne, Daniel and Linda to financial district to take a picture of the Bull. Went to SOHO and I just walked around and watched the girls shop. I finally got to eat a New York hotel to complete my mission that Jiner had assigned me. Then headed into Chinatown where no asians would give me a deal on I <3 NY shirts. Frolicked in Central Park before having to rush back home so we could meet up with everyone to go eat at this place called Striphouse which offered us a $38 1.5lb steak.
Later on, more drinking, with Jenn and I fast walking it to and fro.
Thursday
EMPIRE STATE BUILDING!
We tried going on Wednesday but the line was too long. Some lady working at the ESB told us its least crowded in the morning which turned out to be so wrong when we arrived on Thursday because the line was way longer than on Wednesday afternoon. We caught a huge break though because someone didn't want their tickets anymore so Irene, Jenn, Adrienne and I got tickets for free. The only problem was that they were "Youth" tickets so we decided to risk and just explain that we had bought the wrong tickets if they stopped us. And once again we caught a lucky break when the lady scanning tickets didn't look to see if they were Adult or Youth. We eventually made it to the top and the view was awesome
; Rushed back to meet with the rest of the group and then we took taxis to the airport and then flew back here to Long Beach, then Irvine.
